This year’s fastest American, Micah Williams (Portland, Oregon/USATF Oregon), has clocked 9.86 and will have a vocal fan club as he is a local favorite and was a member of the Oregon team. Coleman has a bye into the World Championships as a result of the title he won in 2019, while Bromell won the Pre Classic at 9.93. He has run 9.92 this season, the same time as Coleman and Olympic teammate Trayvon Bromell (Jacksonville, Florida/USATF Florida).
